After months of closures due to COVID-19, state parks are now trying to navigate a fight for funding in the California State Budget. With proposals to cut $30 million in on-going general funds, elimination of funding for outdoor equity grants, and loss of state park personnel through unfunded positions, the start park system is greatly jeopardized.
To help keep parks whole during this difficult time, we ran a closed grant round of $100,000 to support evolving needs of parks in response to COVID-19 and funding threats.
