We are seeking a dedicated HR Generalist to join our team! This position plays a crucial role in supporting various HR functions, including recruitment and onboarding, benefits and leave administration, compliance, culture building, JEID integration, HR data management, and coordinating bi-annual performance reviews. This position requires a strong understanding of human resource management; familiarity and ability to interpret state, regional, and local employment laws and regulation; and the ability to work collaboratively across departments to foster a positive organizational culture aligned with our mission and values. This individual must be able to act with discretion and with good judgement.
This position is a full-time, exempt position that reports to the Director of Finance and Operations. Regular travel to the office is required.

Compensation: $78,200 - $86,500 annually
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Employee Lifecycle
- Manage recruitment process through our recruitment system, including working with manager to develop job posting, initial candidate screening, interview coordination through to hire.
- Design and execute new employee onboarding plans, including a welcoming new hire process for each new employee that integrates them into the organization culture, completion of all new hire paperwork, and enrollment into org-wide systems along with any necessary basic training.
- Monitor and track compliance training.
- Coordinate and support bi-annual Performance Review and annual compensation benchmarking processes.
- Support and develop proactive efforts to promote a positive and engaging work environment.
- Develop and support recognition program, such as birthdays, work celebrations, life milestones, etc.
- Support org-wide monthly staff meeting, including meeting room reservation, location for all-staff offsites, snacks and meals, A/V, etc.
- Administer bi-annual culture survey and gather results for management review.
- Be a trusted partner to staff on questions, concerns, and issues. Build effective relationships across all levels to effectively drive our mission forward.
- Work with staff and management to resolve employee complaints and grievances. Work with third-party external advisors as needed.
- Manage offboarding process, including exit interview and coordination with exiting employee.
- Justice, Equity, Inclusion, and Diversity (JEID)
- Support implementation of organizational JEID plan.
- Facilitate JEID training and learning discussions.
- Support senior management in holding staff and organization accountable to employing an equity and inclusion lens in our external and internal work.
- Administration and Compliance
- Prepare and process payroll, ensuring proper approval and review.
- Benefits administration, including open enrollment, benefits review, staffing changes, and audits.
- Support leave administration.
- Prepare and deliver training to supervisors on general employment laws, such as meal and rest breaks, overtime, etc.
- Stay updated on employment law and regulations.
- Regularly review and update company policies and employment laws.
- Maintain and update employee handbook.
- Collaborate with Director of Finance and Operations and Executive Director on efforts to develop and implement new policies, procedures, and plans.
- Manage compliance documentation and reporting.
- Maintain and refine human resource information system database (Paylocity).
- Maintain accurate employee records through data management and data entry in the database.
- Ensure hardcopy and digital records are maintained according to the organization’s document retention policy.
- Generate reports and presentations from the organization’s database.
- Other duties as assigned, with some occasional evening and weekend duties required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 4+ years of relevant experience in human resources.
- PHR or SHRM HR certification preferred.
- Associate’s degree in Human Resources or equivalent experience required.
- Strong understanding of employment laws and regulations.
- Experience in recruitment and onboarding, employe relations, and benefits administration.
- Experience and enthusiasm with Justice, Equity, Inclusion, and Diversity programs.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to analyze research and data to problem solve and make informed decisions.
- Demonstrates initiative and self-motivation.
- Strong project management skills
- Strong administrative skills with attention to detail.
- Experience with Paylocity preferred.
- Familiarity with other human resource databases and other tools.
- Experience with Microsoft Suite, Adobe, Asana, and other similar tools.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- High integrity: ability to maintain confidentiality, operate with discretion, and make sound judgements.

COMPENSATION: This is a full-time, exempt position with a salary range of $78,200 - $86,500.
