Update! Y2010 Round 1 Grants Awarded
At this time of enormous challenge, we at the California State Parks Foundation are committed to our mission and work to help protect, enhance, and advocate for California's magnificent state parks. We believe strongly in the ability of our grantees to make positive differences. California State Parks Foundation is proud to announce the following grant awards for our FY2010 Round 1 Funding:
Volunteer Efforts 2009 Volunteer Celebration District: Santa Cruz Organization: Mountain Parks Foundation Annual volunteer recognition event for Santa Cruz region state parks.
Education and Interpretation C.A.S.T. for Kids District: Inland Empire Organization: C.A.S.T. for Kids Foundation Funding for the "Catch a Special Thrill" kids fishing program for disabled and disadvantaged youth at Lake Perris State Recreation Area.
The Conifer Classroom Organization: California Community Forests Foundation District: Statewide Funding towards educational resources for teachers, park docents, and park staff about coniferous forests.
Gravity Barn Interpretive Panel Installation Organization: Mt. Tamalpais Interpretive Association District: Marin Funding to for educational/interpretation panels at the Gravity Barn restoration site. Interpretive Panel Project at Forrest Deaner Native Plant Botanic Gardens
Organization: California Native Plant Society District: Diablo Vista Design and installation of educational panels located inside Benicia SRA.
Value Added Program Organization: Patrick's Point State Park and the North Coast Redwood Interpretive Association District: North Coast Redwoods Funding will help pay for materials and supplies needed for students and volunteers for interpretive programs at the park, including jewelry making for Living History days, redwood for canoe building, and other field trip activities.
Discretionary Kids Don't Float Organization: GFWC Placer Foothills Woman's Club District: Auburn SRA Sign Boards with life vests to loan out at Auburn SRA in both English and Spanish for water safety.
